Aeigis Boost Plus, Bigger and better in every way!
The Aegis Boost plus is a great upgrade to the original Boost by Geekvape, this AIO pod style vape device is just one of the great device from an endless line of Geekvape handheld vape devices.
This device is slightly larger than the original Aegis Boost, this is because this one houses an external 18650 battery compared to the integrated battery in the original Boost.
It also comes with a larger screen, and you can still Boost the e-liquid capacity to 5.5ml by purchasing an additional larger pod.
Aegis Boost Plus Build Design
If you have ever owned an Aegis device, then you already know the build quality are always spot on. The Boost plus is no different, its waterproof, shockproof and dustproof design means that it will last through the day and not even the weather can stop you from vaping.
At 114.2 mm x 49.5 mm x 28.6 mm, it’s bigger than the original Boost. The leather-covered foam grip isn’t as curved like the original but is still comfortable. They’ve increased the size of the screen to 0.96 inches, but the text is still small.
For the screen size, they could have took more advantage but non the less, it is clear and crisp to read.
The fire button is conveniently placed for both finger or thumb use, depending which way you hold the device, with simple up and down buttons. The Pods clicks in to place nicely and feels very secure too, you do not feel like this will just pop out.
The adjustments for the device are as follows:
- Five clicks of the fire button turn the device on/off
- Three clicks of the fire button to enter settings mode
- One click of the fire button in settings mode moves cursor to select parameters
- Up and down to change parameters
- Long press the fire button to exit settings mode
- Up and down to change wattage or temperature
- Up and down at the same time to lock screen
- Fire and down at the same time to decrease brightness
- Fire and up at the same time to increase brightness
- Fire and up and down at the same time for stealth
- Three clicks of the fire button then hold both up and down to change color
Aegis Boost Plus Performance
The Geekvape Boost Plus Kit comes with two pre-built coils, the G-Coil Boost formular 0.4 Ohm mesh coil which performs at 25 to 33 watts and comes preinstalled. You also get a 0.6 Ohm mesh coil and this is a Kanthal wire, rated at 15 to 25 watts.
The pods have a leak proof design with a top fill rubber flap, this makes refilling your pods very easy. Performance is really good and we found that the coils last a long time before changing is required. Obviously this does depend on the type of juice you are using.
Aegis Boost Plus Battery Life and Charging
The Boost Plus uses an external 18650 battery that can be replaced by unscrewing the battery cap on the bottom of the device. It’s the same battery cap we’ve seen on other Geekvape devices like the Aegis 100 and the Aegis Solo. Pull out the little latch with your thumb or finger and use it to unscrew the cap.
The polarity is clearly marked on the inside of the device and on the cap itself. After replacing your battery, simply screw the cap back in until it’s tight. I find that the O-ring on the battery cap makes it feel tight before you’ve got it all the way in, so if you’re unsure, shake your device a little and if you feel the battery moving, keep tightening until it stops.
Geekvape claims the device provides 40% more battery life than an internal battery.
The charge port on this device uses the old micro USB, It has passthrough charging so you can charge your device and use it at the same time. That said, it is still recommended that you use an external charger for your batteries.
